Folks may have been shocked by the ticketed price for the Lumia 950 and 950XL at the Aussie MS Store, and who wouldn’t be. It may hinder a lot of folks early adoption plans for native windows 10 mobile devices. Obviously some fans will do anything to get an updated premium device, after all many of them have had to hold off for more than a year. So a second mortgage, paid organ donation or selling that annoying third child into slavery may be an option.
Most are more conservative than I though, and will elect to hold on to a current device, and update when an RTM build becomes available. There’s been a lot of speculation as to when the current batch of updateable phones, can expect the update.
While we’re working hard to make Windows 10 available for other Lumia devices, the following is a first list of Lumia smartphones that will receive a free upgrade when available: Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930. Features may vary by device. 8 GB of internal memory required
The scuttlebutt coming from Microsoft itself via social channels, seemingly confirms a pre Christmas release.
@Pezzamystic1 (1/2) Broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December.

Will you be saving your pennies and updating your existing device? Will only a pure Windows 10 experience do? There’s an argument that says hang on for that little bit longer. Mid January, early February, and prices are sure to come down. You won’t be that far behind the curve in terms of early adoption.
Either way, it’s looking like we are in the home stretch to being able to install non insider builds of Win 10 Mobile on current hardware
