Carriers in the US market demand huge concessions in design from OEMs,not only having to create phones that fit a wide variety of network equations, but in design as well. Of course such a large market inspires that variability, and of course people will have their favourites. This week we have seen images of Lumias coming to Verizon, and T-Mobile in the US, variants of the Lumia 820, the look and feel is essentially different, as well as their network operating MHz bands.
While there is no standard it must definitely be a headache for OEMs to have to set up to manufacture each different flavour of phone, for a world market, not to mention adding design differences that make the same phone look different. This must also add some hidden costs that get passed on to the end-user in some way, what do you think?
