Windows Phone 8.1 is rolling out and some changes are becoming more clear. One of them is the sharing ability that used to be associated with the Me Tile has been removed. A few apps have popped up to replace that sharing ability, one of them being Unishare.
UniShare now supports Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn (standard). Via in app purchase you can unlock more networks Yammer, Tumblr, Geeklist and Pocket (for saving links), Path and VKontacte[Note: all in app purchases are free for the next 48 hours]. The app works with sharing from within most other apps, and replaces the share function that used to be native in Windows Phone 8.
It’s as simple as using the share button in any app, or from internet explorer to bring up a list of sharing options, and once installed and set up Unishare will appear in that list.
The app interface is very simple and intuitive, most of the work is done in three easy pivot screens. First you will want to set up the accounts you want to share to,
the network setup screen is a set of representative tiles, tap on the tile for the network you want, sign in and give the app permission and you are good to go. You can share to a personal Facebook timeline, or to a
page that you manage. You can share or tweet directly from the app as well as add images. Share in one step,
or be selective before you shoot the message off.
Check or uncheck networks as you please, in a couple of steps. It’s all pretty self explanatory. At the moment the developer is still calling the app a Public Beta, but all of the bugs seem to be well and truly worked out at this stage, with regular updates and added features along the way.
UniShare is free in the store with some features enabled via in app purchase, to enable everything at once costs $2.49.
DUE TO A GLITCH IN THE MARKETPLACE AT THE MOMENT, ALL IN APP PURCHASES FOR UNISHARE ARE FREE FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 48 HOURS SO NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO GET YOUR HANDS ON IT!
