A couple of weeks back Lumia Australia announced the Great Aussie Joke social media competition, this was designed to bring more localised content under the personal assistants belt. The results are in and it looks like we have some winners. I’m not quite sure what’s a win in this case, some of the jokes are flat-out average, with one or two being clever, but you can judge that for yourself.
The winning gags will be added to Cortana’s witty repertoire and rolled out to Lumia users in June – not only in Australia, but also globally, taking our home-grown jokes to a global audience.
I entered 10 puns in a pun contest hoping one would win, but no pun in ten did
A man walks into a pub with a slab of tarmac and says to the bartender, “I’ll have a beer and one for the road”
Did you hear about the mathematician who is afraid of negative numbers? He will stop at nothing to avoid them
Why did the Platypus cross the road? Because it was in the wrong joke
What did the cheese say when it looked in the mirror? Halloumi
The competition ran for the duration of the Melbourne Comedy Festival, with the preceding five jokes chosen to add some Aussie flavour to Cortana’s quip collection.
