True to their word, Telstra today, or the vendor, whether that be MS or HTC, the portico update for the HTC 8X on the network started rolling out. They haven’t even updated the device updates section at the crowd support forums to reflect this yet.
This update is probably more welcome for the bug fixes that it is supposed to bring, for those experiencing random reboots of the phone and poor battery life. Although with two 8X’s in hand here, I haven’t had those problems. Of course do not forget that it includes features like keep Wi-Fi on and reply to calls with text.
If you haven’t gotten it yet, go to settings, system updates on your phone and check for updates, and hopefully it should appear, there is no indication that it is a tiered rollout, it should just be available. You might want to wait till you are on Wi-Fi to download it though, Enjoy.

Yeah I have had Portico on my 920 for a few weeks now. Advantages of not being locked to a network. It is running better with less crashes. Happy days!!
Cheers Craig, I’ve got an unlocked 8X that’s been updated for quite a while as well. Funny though neither phone had any of the issues that have been reported, random restarts etc.
After reading this post I tried to force the update through settings and it worked. My Nokia Lumia 920 (Telstra branded, Optus sim) has been updated with portico.
Great to hear Mark, actually missing an update notification, like many seem to do can leave people waiting for ages. Glad to help
